You provide dynamic and multidisciplinary environmental consulting and technical services to a wide range of businesses who service the property, manufacturing, oil, gas and energy industry. You have track record of providing high-level consultancy services as an environmental consultant to companies or projects based in the Middle-east. You are well experienced in managing and authorising large scale environmental, social and health impact assessments (ESHIA), strategic environmental assess (SEA) and environmental and social due diligence audits for major oil & gas clients in the United Arab Emirates. You pride yourself in your ability to provide technical leadership, co-ordination, technical analysis and direction on multiple projects. You also have the ability to manage project finances, maintain client relationships and represent the business both internally and externally.
What you’ll be doing
You will deliver high-level consultancy services to your employer mainly focusing on the oil & gas sector in the UAE. You will coordinate major tender submissions, working with other departments to ensure we have the best opportunity for winning tenders as well as manage projects for the entire region in line with local and national legislation, standards and guidelines and relevant international standards and guidelines. Apart from consulting, you will also provide permitting support, environmental monitoring, environmental management planning, compliance audits, modelling and site assessments for energy, oil, gas and infrastructure clients within the Middle East while leading multi-disciplinary teams working on a range of environmental inputs across those sectors.
Where you’ll be doing it
Your new employer is a globally recognised entity delivering environmental services across multiple sectors. They have over 150 engineering and environmental services businesses working towards a sustainable future committed to health and safety, research engineering, technical services and environmental science. You will be based in Dubai with 2-3 trips per year to Iraq.
What you’ll need?
B.Sc. degree (ideally a Masters) in either a relevant environmental discipline or engineering discipline (preferably chemical/environmental engineers) .
±10 years experience working in environmental consulting to Oil & Gas clients in the Middle East
Experience working in an international consultancy
Membership of a relevant professional body (i.e. IEMA, IEA or equivalent – chartered or working towards chartered status
Excellent understanding of the ESHIA process, international environmental and social legislation, guidelines and standards and international project financing mechanisms and implications
Experience in negotiating with regulators to achieve the best environmental outcome for the client
Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
Robust project management, including scheduling, staff resource management and budget management
Excellent communication skills
Proactive networker
Excellent written English and verbal communication, presentation and organisational skills
