Why the role exists.
Would like to move quickly with several projects so the team have headspace to think strategically.
Currently on version 2.5 of battery, developing version 3 and now thinking about version 4.
Based at a Smaller facility but looking to move to larger facility in the next two months.
Current production maximum of 4 batteries a day want to increase to 10 ASAP.
You will oversee R&D and several projects.
You understand the R&D process and how to make custom battery packs.
You have Battery/vehicle design experience - Motorcycle design for manufacturing vehicles and mechanical systems for battery swaps.
Product design and engineering analysis
You will help grow a projects team of 4 people.
You will hire additional team members to build a world class team of mission-driven innovators & engineers.
What do you need?
Degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or equivalent
Experience using CAD Design software (5 to 10 years)
Experience with, BMS’s, vehicles, batteries, controllers, or BLDC motors preferred.
Experience with design for manufacturing seeing products through to production/market.
Strong CAD/CAM/FEA skills, and analysis using MATLAB/Excel.
How will you fit in?
You can work from Rwanda or are at least willing to spend 30% of your time in Rwanda.
