Job Description

Job Function:
Architect Lead PL/SQL Developer. The successful incumbent will need to be able to perform both a lead development/architect role as well as take a lead role with selling concepts to the customer. This position requires telecommunications billing knowledge

The person must have at a high level:
The ability to develop and do technical architecture design and analysis.
Be able to sell technical development concepts to VC/VF
The ability to lead and direct the developers
The ability to assess the scope and effort of requirements from High level requirements.
Give input and recommend system performance improvements
Support Project management with planning and prioritization.
Must have excellent Oracle PL/SQL skills and practical experience as both a developer and architect

Job Requirements:


Responsibilities:
Technical architecture design and analysis
Sell architecture and technical development concepts to customers
Requirements analysis and specification design at a system/enterprise level
Scope and effort estimates and impact analysis for self and others in line with organization objectives
Support Project management with planning and prioritization
Development in PL/SQL
Give input and recommend system performance improvements
Unit testing of developed code

Code Reviews of development done in PL/SQL
Document reviews
Design\Implement Data Management strategies which include validation of source data and the use of data in management Reporting.
Lead and direct the developers
3rd line support
Development of Functional Specifications and Technical specifications
Assist with proposals to client
Attend project meetings and supply updates on progress
Responsible for the performance and delivery of team members
Mentor and grow juniors
 
Experience Required:
10 years with at least 7 years Oracle PL/SQL programming experience
 
Education Required:
3-year tertiary degree & B. degree Computer Science or BEng degree or equivalent. & Data Modelling and Design courses, Oracle certification and Architecture certification (HIGHLY beneficial)
 
Essential Competencies:
5 years relevant Oracle 10G/11G/12c database development experience.
Good technical understanding of data modelling, design and architecture principles and techniques.
Expert understanding of Oracle PL/SQL
Experience in high data volume environments
Good documentation skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving ability
Professional and effective communication skills
Ability to work within a technical team comprised of internal and external resources
Ability to plan and organize development work and deliverable for a team
Understanding of the full SDLC
Disciplined approach to code maintenance
 
Advantageous Competencies:
Telecommunications experience
ETL experience/Ab Initio/ODI
CMMI
