Job Description

Key Accountabilities:
  • To overall manage the products serving the Africa sales region to archive the product revenue and profit targets of Regional Products team.
  • To study, formulate and drive the GIA/MPLS/Fiber products development plan globally.
  • To define the overall strategy and source right partnership with carriers/cable capacity owners and establish formal engagement to expand the on-net network coverage globally.
  • To work closely with other functional teams, e.g. voice, MSDS, to support their new development initiatives.
  • To lead the regional product manager(s):
    • (To support Pre-sales/Sales on customer proposal/bids related to the GIA/MPLS/Fiber products in the Africa region.)
    • To monitor market trend of GIA/MPLS/Fiber services in the regions under Regional Products team, act proactively to the changing customer’s requirements and recommend actions, such as marketing promotion activities, as well as get involved in sales activities in order to ensure the planned AOP can be achieved.
    • (To lead and oversee the IP and Fiber network augmentation/expansion projects related to Africa region.)
    • To work closely with Vendor Management team to drive network cost saving initiatives related to the Africa region.
    • To ensure updated MPLS and Ethernet Interconnect information (e.g. Pricing service features, capability, coverage etc.) in the Africa region upon Interconnects are established by the Alliance team.
    • To develop and expand the GIA/MPLS/Fiber services in terms of coverage and service features with focus in the Africa region.
    • To provide regional inputs on market intelligent, periodic product costing/information updates and on AOP planning.
    • To prepare business cases for capex/opex funding to support the GIA/MPLS/Fiber business growth related to the Africa region.
    • To mutually back up other regions whenever needed.
  • Degree in Telecommunication, Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Around 15 years’ relevant experience in telecommunications product management, preferably in the global carrier industry.
  • Solid product knowledge of IP, MPLS and Transmission connectivity business, including the network solutions to both enterprise and wholesale customers.
  • Experience and exposure to the telecom market in Africa region.
  • Excellent management, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English and preferably French.
  • Self-initiated, highly motivated and result-oriented.
  • Willing to travel to overseas countries to meet customers, vendors, attend forums according to business needs.
