Job Description

The Database Analyst Programmer will be responsible for compiling of technical specifications from Functional specifications, and developing and maintaining Oracle custom-built applications. The Database Analyst Programmer will be required to address user requests for the maintenance, enhancements, projects, and new development of Oracle modules using Advanced Goldengate and PSL,SQL, Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports. Knowledge and experience of advanced Goldengate and PL/SQL is essential.
Inaddition to developing and maintaining Oracle packages, procedures, functions, triggers, queries, forms and reports, the Database Analyst Programmer must be willing to adhere to development and quality assurance standards.
Under general direction, administers database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation. Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, creation and operation of a database environment. Assists applications development staff and users on data base solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases

 
Responsibilities include
Interact with customers to gather system requirements for Oracle projects.
Provide technical and functional support to project team throughout the project life cycle.
Write requirements definitions and develop optimal solutions to meet project needs.
Document system flows, designs, functions and operations for reference purposes.
Recommend system enhancements and modifications to improve performance efficiency.
Assist in database design, data modeling and operational control procedures.
Assist in developing project scope, budget and timelines.
Review test plans and perform bug fixes.
Monitor project progress and identify and resolve any issues.
Provide training and assistance to less experienced staffs as needed.
Handle multiple projects and manage on-time deliveries.
Develop and enforce best practices to improve system operational efficiency.
Recommend new technologies to meet changing business needs.
Participate in team meetings, conferences and problem solving discussions.

Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge and experience of advanced PL/SQL and Goldengate is essential.

Knowledge of Oracle Tools & Utilities


Experience
5 years experience in an Oracle environment.
