Job Description

Requirements:

  • BSc Computer Science/Information Systems; BEng Electronic Engineering/Communications or similar
  • Candidates should be pro-active self-starters with a passion for technology and performance 
  • Support Engineers should possess strong analytical skills, own a problem and follow through to resolution 
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as on their own


Advantageous:

  • Linux/UNIX admin including shell scripting, process/performance management
  • Software Testing knowledge/skills
  • Documentation and writing skills
  • Ability to remain focused under pressure and work to deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • A telecommunications background 

 

Knowledge of any of the following:

  • SS7/ISUP/CAMEL/MAP
  • TCP/IP
  • SOAP/XML/JSON
  • C/C++/ERLANG

Testers/Support (3rd level):

  • Evaluate and understand the requirements, research when required
  • Understand code and In-house tools
  • Unit Testing using Debugger, Tracing tools
  • Must have local environment for unit testing
  • Operating systems efficiency in Linux, Unix/Solaris, Windows
  • Documentation: O&M Documentation, Testing Documentation
  • Progress Reporting
  • Acquire knowledge and understanding of existing system architectures and deployment: deployment environment, logs, communication protocols, general understanding of GSM network 
  • Perform trouble shooting, understand and analyse the problem, resolution
  • Problem reporting indicating problem statement, analysis, corrective actions, impact on service, permanent resolution
