Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The primary purpose of the role is to plan and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems and network infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of the orginsations IT assets. This includes the developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimising all new and existing hardware, software, communication links, telephony, data centre, security systems and other infrastructure.

Experience/Knowledge & Skills
- Troubleshooting skills

- Proven working experience as an IT operations manager or relevant experience
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on
- Negotiation skills
- Delegation
- Leading without authority
- Need to be intimately familiar with technologies such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare
- Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, MS Exchange, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery
- 5 years of experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
- 2 years successful leadership of an infrastructure team
Qualifications
- Bcom Computer Science, Diploma in IT or similar
- Certifications in server, network, IT governance and project management will be an added advantage
