Job Description

You will lead a testing portfolio and ensure effective use of testing resources through robust strategies, plans and estimates.  You will establish & improve testing prcesses to drive increased quality and operational efficiency, lower costs & reduced time-to-market.

You will:
Perform the following tasks in manner consistent with the values of Honesty, Integrity and Trust. People Capabilities will be at the forefront of what you do including Customer Focus, Team & Culture, Continuous Improvement, Effective Communication, Judgement and Drive Results.
  • Establish and run a new Testing Centre of Excellence within matrixed environment
  • Establish and drive consistency in framework, standards and practices as well as a testing governance framework
  • Review and approve all test strategies and deliverables
  • Implement effective and efficient test processes and tools and use metrics to measure test effectiveness
  • Leverage automation tools to improve efficiency
  • Manage vendor testing outcomes to quality expectations
  • Ensure delivery is on time, within budget & with required quality across multiple, simultaneous delivery streams
  • Reduce leakage of defects into production
  • Identify and elaborate opportunities to standardise and reuse capabilities, processes and technology;
  • Minimise test infrastructure costs and optimise resources to better manage demand and supply across projects
  • Develop and apply knowledge of the Group’s risk appetite, policies & controls; use risk based testing techniques;
  • Partner effectively with peers across build and run technology functions and with suppliers
  • People Leadership:

    • Motivating and challenging your team to meet and exceed performance standards through continuous improvement and driving results
    • Role modelling company vision and values
    • Coaching, mentoring, managing performance, training and development of people to build enhanced testing capability
  • Budget management
  • Significant experience leading a testing function
  • Exceptional test process knowledge and experience
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills with the ability to concurrently direct, inspire and control multiple test teams within a dynamic environment
  • Excellent understanding of risk management within the context of financial services business strategies
  • Experience and detailed technical understanding of project and system development life cycles
  • Ability to work in an agile way within a fast-paced and dynamic work environment to tight deadlines
  • Ability to innovate to push the boundaries of what technology can provide & to keep things simple and standard
  • Strong communication and influencing ability
  • An IT qualification is desirable (not essential)
