Job Description

Purpose

To provide day-to-day IT Support with desktops, laptops, printers, VOIP Telephones and networks, within the IT Department to the business users, in order to enable the business users to accomplish their business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voicemail, email, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware and configuring systems and applications.
  • Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or other technical staff
  • Log and track calls using problem management software, maintain history records and related problem documentation
  • Prepare standard statistical reports, such as help desk incident reports
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions,
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software.
  • Administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation networking software products.
Experience
  • Dell and Lenovo laptop and desktop hardware and software management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • In-depth experience in troubleshooting / isolating Windows 10, Windows 7 / MS Office 365 / MS SharePoint.
  • Component experience with network technologies, including local-area network (LAN) protocols, wide-area network (WAN) protocols, TCP/IP routing, DHCP, DNS, and WINS.
  • Managing Windows Active Directory, for users and devices.
  • Installing and configuring Windows OS and Office Suite.
  • Telecommunications experience basic troubleshooting
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of printers on the LAN
  • Component experience with remote support tools, Altiris and Citrix
  • In-depth knowledge to give advice on the uses and application of all systems in use
  • Windows 10 and Windows 7 experience, from configuration to troubleshooting.
  • Microsoft Office, setup, configuration to troubleshooting
  • Monthly reports – Windows servers, Exinda devices, VOIP telephones and AWD processes
  • Backups on servers
  • Patch and fixes on servers
  • Windows Server management
  • Setup, configuration and troubleshooting with Microsoft Server 2008 and 2012
Qualifications
  • Matric
  • A+ certification
  • Related Qualification
  • MCSE qualification essential
Additional Requirements
  • 3 - 5 years related experience
  • Knowledge of VMWare and Linux will be beneficial
 
A drivers’ License is essential as well as own transport.
