Job Description

Reports to: Senior Operations Manager
Job Outline:
  • Responsible for monitoring various systems to ensure customers have access to Data Solutions’ products and services.
  • Monitor data quality.
  • Take action to resolve incidents involving technical failures or issues of data quality.
Essential Requirements:
  • Tertiary level information technology related qualification
  • Good SQL skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with working with version control systems an advantage
  • Monitoring:  Note fault conditions and take appropriate action.
  • Incident Management: The Operations Manager should be the first to be notified of any system incident (product level infrastructure level). He/she is then responsible for managing the communication and successful resolution of the incident.
  • Release Management:  Keep the staging environment as close to ready as possible for releases to live. This includes coordinating the general process and communication.
  • Monitor data quality: Take note of anomalies reported by customers or internal sources and take appropriate action to improve data quality.
  • Assist the Customer Support Centre (CSC): Assess CSC queries and direct resources towards solutions.
  • Interface between Technical Operations and the Development Teams.
  • Data procurement:  The Operations Manager should be familiar with a supplier’s data format and methods of delivery.  Ongoing monitoring of data supply is necessary to ensure data quality and prevent service interruptions.
  • Data supply:  Quote for and supply data in batches and/or custom formats for customer orders.  Intimate knowledge of the data environment is required for accurate quoting.
  • Reporting: Produce reports for internal staff and customers. 
  • Third Party Relations: Liaise with third party developers and suppliers regarding integration and release requirements, new developments, system changes and general product information.
