Manage a team of software test analysts and testers and Plan, control and manage assigned test and verification projects, plus tracking progress against plans including defect management and monitoring:
o Accountable for planning, deploying and managing the testing scope and effort for any given engagement/release.
o Accountable for determining risks and managing risk around the testing effort – these include both project risks and product risks.
o Accountable for test environment management and planning by working with the vendor, the development manager, System owner and IT Operations (technical infrastructure) manager to plan and manage the releases into the test environment.
o Accountable for creating, managing and reporting on test metrics to ensure all stakeholders obtain a sufficient view on the quality level of the product under test.
o Accountable for monitoring the progress of the test project and taking appropriate action to correct/manage any deviations from plan.
o Accountable to ensure traceability between business, system requirements and testing artifacts to ensure adequate test coverage for business requirements.
o Accountable for implementing the test automation strategy.
Support best practice and innovation in the operational model through critical assessment of its workings and challenge to its design assumptions through testing analysis of software systems:
o Define and implement standards within QA team for work processes, practices.
o Selectively review testing deliverables from a quality perspective (80/20; or at the request of a PM/Project Owner).
Build and manage working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including the QA team, SA and Architecture team, project managers, BA’s, Developers and nominated business representatives.
Predict staffing needs to ensure all requirements are identified and the team is appropriately sized for Test Analysis through monitoring, supervising and motivating staff assigned to the projects for completion.
Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of team in order to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology
3 to 5 Years work related experience
