Job Function:
Provide monitoring/support/investigation/fault administration on BUS Telecoms applications
Analyse failures and trends on BUS Telecoms applications

Provide monitoring/support/investigation/fault administration for BUS Telecoms applications
Perform scheduled daily, weekly monthly support tasks
Provide assistance to BUS Telecoms applications support team members
Ensure that customer Support Service Level Agreements for the applications are met
Perform investigations of support techniques to simplify achievement of customer SLAs
Perform proactive investigation and resolution of application failures internally and with customer vendors
Provide assistance and feedback to customer representatives regarding application issues
Provide accurate and clear verbal and written reporting for application failure investigations and resolution
Assist with training of applications support team members
After hours support for BUS Telecoms applications where required
Comply with the business footprint shift requirements of the BUS Telecoms support team

Education Required:
3 Year tertiary qualification or a relevant IT qualification

Experience Required:
2 years application support experience

Job Requirements:
Essential Competencies:
Knowledge of Windows & Linux operating systems
Ability to understand and write SQL Database queries (Oracle Database)
Knowledge of the disciplines in an application support environment, incident handling, change management etc.
Problem solving exposure at application and business transaction level
Commitment to routine as well as investigation/analysis work
Ability to solve medium to high complexity problems
Self-motivated, proactive, taking ownership of problems through to completion
Mature person with the sense of responsibility to work on shifts and after hours

Advantageous Competencies:
Good oral and written communication skills
Good customer relationship skills
Quick learner (short initial ramp up period)
