Job Description

You will be employed as a New Business Development and Projects Director and you will be required to perform all duties and tasks assigned to you.
Your roles and responsibilities are:
  • New Business Development
  • Growth of revenue in existing client portfolios
  • Client service Management of all new and existing clients
  • Project Management
New Business Development
  • Identify sales leads, and follow up with new business opportunities.
  • Planning and preparing presentations – both of company credentials and for client pitches
  • Communicate new product development to prospective clients, as well as benchmarking company service offering against the industry.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with new contacts and existing clients
Concept development
  • Meeting with clients to take campaign briefs, and understanding client requirements.
  • Participating in, and running strategic brainstorms, ensuring integration and support from all business units.
  • Collating or co-coordinating the collation of the concept documentation and any supporting materials.
  • Ensuring that the concept document is being completed according to the template, client brief, pitch objectives and timelines.
  • Proofing and editing the concept document once it has been completed, and ensuring that it addresses the client brief and pitch objectives.
  • Ensure that the presentation not only goes the extra mile to impress the client but also provides solutions to client questions or concerns.
Budget Creation:
  • Ensuring all budgets are reviewed, against client brief and pitch presentation documents to ensure that all is correct.
  • Ensuring that all line items are inclusive of a 30% profit margin, where appropriate, and the relevant management fee is charged.
Client Proposal
  • Booking and running a Presentation Trial Run internally, prior to the client pitch, with all supporting material, thereby ensuring the presentation team is comfortable and competent to present the concept and budget to client in a professional manner.
  • Competently address all client concerns raised in the Pitch and commit to addressing any others after the meeting as expediently as possible.
  • Ensure the pitch materials are left with the client to ensure they have sufficient material to convey the pitch concept internally themselves.
Implementation Planning
  • Once the Pitch has been awarded, the team is be fully briefed, by means of running through the client Pitch and budget.
  • Internal weekly status meetings with the campaign team are to be set-up to ensure that the campaign is on track with the required planning.
  • NB: Weekly Client status meetings are to be set up to ensure excellent communications and issue management.
  • Ensure that a Campaign Timeline is drawn up and reviewed as a project task baseline.
  • Review Promoter Training Material to ensure the correct message is being conveyed to promoters based on project objectives
  • Offer internal support and guidance where required.
Implementation Steps:
  • Proactively manage client expectations throughout client interaction.
  • Ensure open communication channels with all parties involved throughout the campaign.
  • Ensure that all implementation steps are followed by the campaign team according to the Campaign Timeline, deadlines and campaign objectives.
  • Ensure all weekly meetings take place according to objectives and ensure that client and internal team remain informed and happy.
  • Create CEs according to the budget and agreed invoicing split.  Submit CEs as early as possible for approval and processing.
  • Ensure all meetings are minuted and all Meeting Minutes are distributed timelessly to all attendees as an accurate record of events and tasks.
  • Regularly and proactively reassess campaign performance and objectives and investigate means of optimizing and improving deliverables and service.
  • Actively assist in implementation wherever required to constantly serve in the client and projects best interests. 
Post Campaign Process
  • Review Final Feedback based on accumulated weekly feedback submissions, with the inclusion of graphical representation of results, Insights and Learnings, Element Inventory and final budget. 
    • Ensure that Final Feedback addresses campaign objectives and targets.
  • Schedule and present Final Feedback to client, minute the Feedback meeting and distribute Meeting Minutes to all attendees.
  • Ensure that the CE has been closed off and the final amounts invoiced – along with any other financial reporting and consolidation which may be required
  • Ensure that Campaign elements are handed over to client or otherwise appropriately ‘closed out’.

  • Lots of Initiative
  • Strong Management skills
  • Experience in Dark Marketing would be beneficial – but not essential
Due to the nature of marketing, and the vast differentiation from one promotion to the next, your duties and responsibilities will be dynamic and may vary from those mentioned above.  However, overall your duties and responsibilities will be to assist in the successful running, and growth of the business.
