Job Title: PRODUCT MANAGER (Prepayment) Business Unit Networks
Location: Cape Town
Reporting: To General Manager
Job Description: The Product Manager (PM) is responsible for the creation and communication of the product vision and charting of its road map in collaboration with executive management. He/She owns the product development activities throughout its lifecycle. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company.

 Manage the Revenue Product Lifecycle, i.e (POS,Transaction Product Switch and S3/W3 Vending Products)
 Manage vending system implementation’s, at a project management, technical and operational level.
 Oversee the IT and Service & Maintenance teams responsible for payCity product and solutions.
 Writing and enhancing product specification, as well as partner connection document.
 Bid Management, Tender Submissions and Contract Negotiation
 Conduct customer, market and technology research to identify trends, customer pain points and opportunities.
 Work collaboratively with development and contracts/marketing teams to identify new tender requirements that necessitate system changes.
 Collaborate with software development team(s) to rapidly work on product concepts and deliver high quality software solutions.
 Engage with internal and external clients to determine customer needs, market requirements, and for product feedback.
 Work with cross functional teams to establish product roadmaps and timelines, communicate the product (and company’s) vision, and guide them through the product development lifecycle.
 Work with development teams to execute projects and oversee acceptance testing to ensure quality standards are achieved and new features meet expectations.
 Demonstrate software products to clients.
 Manage the development of prototypes illustrating specific product enhancements and development initiatives.
 Assume ownership of all product deliverables throughout all phases of the Product life cycle.
 Designs the product support and logistics framework where necessary
 Designs product marketing material and provides support to technical proposals and tenders
 Provides Business Development support where required
 Regularly interact with industry leaders and target users to stay abreast of industry changes.
 Maintain the product backlog, prioritise according to business needs and value, create development orders and set release schedule.
 Manage interactions with systems dependent on the Product to ensure proper change control and inclusion of all role players.
 Deliver customer presentations and product training both locally and overseas, as well as prepare and present technical papers at conferences
 Possess a unique blend of business and technical understanding
 Strategic thinking ability
 Must be able to analyse and solve complex problems
 Must be able to apply astute business sense
 Must have excellent organisational and planning skills
 Must have the ability to take proactive action
 Ability to communicate on all levels
 Must be flexible, innovative and creative
 Tertiary Education in the appropriate field (IT Degree)
 Project Management
 Strong technical background and a thorough understanding of current technologies including virtualisation ( 5 -10yr’s experience)
 Strong team leading skills.
 Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
