Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with both the external and internal clients
  • Must be able to run the full warehouse operation with optimum efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with the service level agreement
  • Ensure sufficient labour control and compliance to both the company and client safety policies
  • Manage the daily stock movement counts and balance on SAP
  • Monitor staff performance to ensure that daily tasks are completed
  • Ensure proper stock rotation
  • Ensure the implementation of the business processes and adherence to the standard operating procedures
  • Control monthly expenditure vs budget
  • Management of the time and attendance for the warehouse employees
  • Do monthly stock take and daily cycle counts
  • Ensure employee discipline in warehouse environment
  • Handle all dispatch/stock queries from internal customers
  • Manage stock control and loss prevention
  • Ensure mechanical handling equipment is maintained to agreed operational standards
  • Warehouse floor planning for a bulk commodity in a high throughput environment
  • Daily reports on loads (planned vs actual)
  • Ensure housekeeping standards expected of an production/engineering environment are  maintained
  • Managing the dispatch/receiving function ensuring laid-out procedures/processes are followed and continuously improved

 
 
Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management

 
Skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Computer literacy in MS Office package
  • SAP knowledge
  • Employee relations and conflict management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to work accurate, under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to allocate resources effectively and delegate tasks
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Sound understanding of key logistics efficiency measures
  • Sound understanding of the impact of reverse logistics
