Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage Software Development project activities for multiple projects across all project phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure
  • Actively manage programs and/or project portfolio; provide consistent program status and progress against objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with development team, lead architect and management to determine technical direction and approach to system design and implementation, including both brand products and supporting systems

Create, manage and track projects, including, but not limited to:

  • Project schedules
  • Detailed project plans
  • Project scope statements
  • Cost estimates
  • Resource plans
  • Risk and issues logs
  • Status reports
  • Tailor project management, development and support processes to meet the needs of individual (new and/or ongoing) projects
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of projects and staff
  • Communicate with project teams as necessary to ensure project deliverables are on schedule and within cost parameters
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as needed in regards to project deliverables
  • Make decisions and communicate trade-offs and risks
  • Drive key decisions across projects
  • Make recommendations to management about schedules, prioritisation and resource allocation with input from team members
  • Provide ongoing project plan/status reporting for use by key stakeholders
  • Flexibility to engage with team in non-regular hours

 

Ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience/certifications
  • Project Management certification
  • Understanding of contemporary agile methodologies, best practices, and trends
  • Experience with agile planning software tools required; familiarity with JIRA preferred
  • Self-motivated, diplomatic, articulate, decisive, approachable, flexible; concern for long-term effectiveness
  • Creative thinker; effective problem-solver
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages
  • Skilled communicator and negotiator
  • Able to resolve conflicts, disagreements, and misunderstandings
  • Strong attention to detail and able to assemble clear, concise and accurate project documentation
  • Lead matrix project teams to successful project completion
  • Agile Lifecycle Expertise – demonstrable experience of process improvements in agile world
  • Ability to work with little supervision

 

Preferred qualifications
