Software & Quality Assurance Manager
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To operationally manage the testing team with the aim provide high quality testing services according to testing best practices and in line with the Business and IT Strategies
Management: Managing the Testing Team. Effective project management within the testing domain. Overall management and coordination of the testing phases, including the approver of testing outputs and managing sign-in/out meetings. Effective resource management. Effective defect management
Test Methodology: Definition, implementation, integration and continual improvement (KPIs) of the Test Strategy and all sub-processes. Ensure adherence and governance of the Test Strategy. Issue identification, analysis, management and escalation. Effective application of testing methods and techniques for the identification and extraction of test requirements. Specification of test environment and data requirements. Ownership and management of test environments and data. Effective test tool use, administration and knowledge transfer. Effective test closure activities i.e. PIR and production handover. Mentoring of less experienced test resources. Knowledge transfer of testing responsibilities, procedures and tools across organization
Risk and Quality Assurance: Quality assurance for all testing outputs and services. Development of high quality test plans and scheduling
Communication: Liaison with all key stakeholders: Portfolio Office, Project Managers, Production Support, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Development Teams, Business Management. Effective test reporting.
Service Improvement: Continual service improvement: people, processes and technology in line with testing standards and best practices
Extensive knowledge of international testing methodologies, standard testing approach techniques and ‘best of breed’ testing tools
Extensive knowledge and operational experience of functional and non-functional testing
Broad knowledge of technologies, system architecture, environment and data management
Operational experience of test automations implementations and management
Functional knowledge of Financial Services business processes and industry
Communication: Presentation and Business writing.

Demonstrates attention to detail and reacts to commercial and customer issues within their operation.
Builds strong networks and strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders and
Engages and connects people to enable delivery of BU operating plan.
Three year degree or IT Diploma.
ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst
ISTQB Advanced Test Manager
ISTQB Advanced Technical Test Analyst (preferred)
ISTQB Expert (preferred)
Experience with financial budgeting and cost of IT initiatives
Line management experience
