Job Description

The Regional Manager is responsible for the management and execution of the overall business development, operational, customer service and client retention strategies of TSPC, supervising the routine performance of all staff and maximising the profitability of the region in line with budgeted sales targets. The Operations and Sales Manager will be responsible for executing regional strategy for all TSPC products and will direct and coordinate the activities his sales teams accordingly. Travel is a requirement of the position.
Key Responsibility Areas
  • General Summary
    • Responsible and accountable for business development through growth (sales), profitability and client retention.
    • Management of stock and company assets.
    • Overall facilities management of Regional Office.
    • Cash control.
    • Ensuring effective Marketing and Public Relations through excellent customer service.
    • Determining staffing requirements and fulfilling with the right candidates.
    • Hire and train new staff.
    • Manage direct reporting staff according to overall company policy.
    • Monitor staff performance including performance reviews; set employee goals and objectives; develop staff to maximise potential.
    • Delegate work duties to staff.
    • Allocate use of available resources.
    • Monitor and assist staff with work progress.
    • Co-ordinate financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency.
    • Facilitate the preparation and analysis of reports.
    • Review performance data (financial, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, activity levels and individual performance against targets.
    • Achievement of regional budgetary revenue.
    • Regular site visits and presence within regions in order to maintain awareness of market requirements and competitor activity.
    • Adherence to deadlines.
    • Awareness and identification of opportunities for up-selling, cross-selling and implementing new products in existing client base.
    • Facilitate effective communication on sales-related activities between Head Office and Regional Branches.
Core Functions:
  • Business Development and Growth
    • Drive Channel Sales performance.
    • Ensure ALL Sales Representatives achieve all sales, new business acquisition and revenue targets set by the business.
    • Grow existing base revenues through a wider product mix.
    • Identify and pursue sales opportunities and/or prospects on a regional level.
    • Be familiar with company product mix and commercial terms in order to successfully market company capabilities.
    • Co-ordinate and facilitate Regional Sales Team activities in accordance with overall company sales strategy.
    • Embody the “customer is king” philosophy
  • Financial Procedure and Controls
    • Required stock is ordered timeously and in accordance with company stock ordering process.
    • Stock count is completed and balanced monthly in accordance with company policy. Required documentation is submitted according to deadline.
    • Strict adherence to cash collection and reconciliation process.
    • Strict adherence to company banking and reconciliation process.
    • Stock distribution in line with a clear understanding of activation numbers to ensure maximum returns.
  • Reporting and Sales Administration
    • Ensure any reporting requirements are completed accurately and submitted by the deadline.
    • Maintain accurate geographical information in regards to prospective and existing customers so as to track national footprint and opportunity.
    • Maintain accurate record of sales team activity, efficiency and performance.
    • Liaise with internal departments to facilitate efficient flow of the sales process.
    • Provide progress reports at regular intervals.
  • Operational Efficiency
    • Implementation and entrenchment of effective and efficient Sales Force Management.
    • Effective capacity management across the entire Regional Sales Team.
    • Effective fleet management striving for continuous opex improvement.
    • Ensure Regional Sales team adheres to company guidelines in regards to time management.
    • Aligning service delivery to customer by creating a culture of excellence.
  • Human Resource Management
    • Entrench and enforce Company Policies, Processes and Procedures.
    • Promote a performance based culture and ensure staff are held accountable.
    • Develop Sales team members and build future leaders.
    • Live the Company Values.
    • Managing day to day activities of staff to optimum efficiency levels.

Education & Qualification
  • Grade 12 with Matric certificate
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Sound knowledge of business principles, financial management, marketing and sales
  • Familiar with the purpose and composition of Service Level Agreements
  • 3+ years’ experience in Customer Relations/Client Management
  • 5 years’ sales and operations management experience
