KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
 

General

 
  • Installation and configuration of operating systems, domain, updates and supporting drivers
  • Configuration of networks, e-mail clients, account details and testing with the e-mail server
  • Perform all software updates and update where and when necessary
  • Use VMware virtualization software to run and manage virtual machines
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
  • Contribute and maintain system standards
  • Research and recommend innovative and/or automated approaches for system administration tasks
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identifying any possible intrusions
  • Assist project teams with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases – defining needs, benefits, technical strategy, research and development within the project life-cycle, technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions

Specific Skills (Technical):

 
  • 5-years related experience
  • 4-6 years Linux System administration experience
  • 4-6 years experience with Windows Servers in an AD environment
  • Good Microsoft Windows Server / Desktop knowledge and experience
  • Linux Server experience essential
