Job Description


To partner with the Business Partner, Architecture Lead, Systems Managers and the application teams to ensure the delivery of quality systems solutions, the on-going technical and functional support, operational efficiency as well as optimisation and improvement of Front Office Applications in order to satisfy business requirements in line with the business strategy.

Minimum Requirements

• 3 year IT or business-related qualification
• 5 – 8 years Analysis experience
• Solid SQL knowledge
• Broad technical functional and architectural knowledge
• Project management skills
• Technical knowledge of hardware, preferably POS.
• Knowledge of relevant methodology and tools; e.g. ARIS

• Personal effectiveness by working effectively and productively in a pressurised environment
• Making insightful business decisions and displaying ability to deal with a wide range of issues

Job Specification

• Provide specialist input and guidance to the Architecture Lead, Business Manager and the application teams to ensure the identification and delivery of quality systems solutions that meet the business requirements while minimising impact (Delivery of solutions includes the software selection process)
• Provide the applications teams with architectural and technical thought leadership and assure that solutions adhere to architectural and technical standards and principles
• Keep up to date with best practises and the latest developments and thinking with regard to applications within area of expertise:
• Proactively update ITS and the business where relevant
• Ensure that these are taken into account where relevant when developing solutions where relevant
• Proactively identify and recommend opportunities for delivering new and improving existing solutions to meet the business requirements
• The ability to view systems conceptually / strategically as well as detailed.
• Build and nurture effective relationships with business counterparts, suppliers, IT colleagues and external networks. Work with and understand stakeholder requirements and concerns. Be able to understand a problem from different stakeholder viewpoints. Facilitate a discussion towards a solution.
• Provide input into systems-related Risk Management Strategies and risk mitigation
• Develop and maintain business requirement definition and system specification for changes and enhancements
• Interpret business requirement specification, analyse existing system and interfaces for modification/improvement purposes and evaluate and design system enhancements
• Participate in the post implementation reviews for completed changes
• Ensure the stability of the existing systems environment
• Provide technical support on problem escalations and detailed investigations
• Resolve user and system queries and provide input/guidance to technical teams when needed
• Incident resolution and problem management
• Document, publish and maintain system design and all interfaces with other systems
• Provide system input to design of user training material
• After hours standby on a rotational basis
